HOPE & DAFFODILS

Daffodils are the first signs of early spring. The American Cancer Society has used daffodils as a symbol of hope for all cancer patients for many, many years. When I was in high school and college I participated in “Daffodils Days” to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. The fund raiser gave daffodils, helpful advice about smoking cessation and information about cancer as a disease that could be treated with potential cures. I am happy that “Daffodil Days” is still going strong today. Cancer was considered a death sentence and the message of hope was/is loud and clear.

The advances in cancer care over the years have truly proven that cancer can be cured or become a disease that can be treated long term. The advantages of adjunct treatment with repurposed medications, supplements and vitamins have added great strides in cancer care. Hope for cancer patients is real.

Yesterday, a little girl brought me a daffodil that she picked in Central park. She said that the color is so bright and cheerful that she wanted me to share it with all my patients to help them get better. So I took a picture of it and I am sharing it with all of you. This is a true message of hope for all cancer patients.
