It is hard to believe that 25 years have past! Every year I take a picture of beams of light tribute to the lives lost on 9/11/2001 and take time to reflect on the events of that day, it still feels like it was only yesterday. I remember every detail of that day (9/11/2001), waiting to treat patients in the ER and i remember it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. We were told to be ready for hundreds of patients and then there were only fourteen. The news finally came late in the evening that there were not many survivors. Truly one of the darkest and saddest days in the history of the United States. Out of the ashes, emerged hope for unity and some true heroes. It was an unbelievable time, for many weeks after this tragic event people were kinder to each other and willing to help everyone (anyone). We will never forget and always have hope that we will be kinder to one another always.
For all cancer patients (especially those with exposure to dust from 9/11), please know that there is hope for better outcomes than standard of care alone. The scientific evidence is clear that standard of care plus repurposed medications, supplements and vitamins produces better outcomes. This hope can be yours and it is time to start.
